UNC vs. UCONN

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Sun Mar 22, 2009 6:46 pm

That's my prediction for the final.

Stay tuned for the winner. :D

You mean it's not going to be USC-OK?

How daring was it to make a prediction that seems to agree with the prognosticators' favorites?

This compares to reading the first five questions of a BAM stack and declaring with pride, as if one actually had demonstrated brilliance, "Nihil obstat."

As for me, the only bracket I filled out (jff) has Louisville/Duke going for the big dance.

I haven't been paying any attention at all to the games or the prognosticators, so yes, it was. :P

I gotta say, this is the best I've done in a March Madness pool in ages. I still have 14 of my 16 in the race; 7 of my Elite Eight, and all four of my Final 4 are still alive. Normally, I'm lucky to have half of the Sweet 16 right.

I do not have UNC or UConn in the final game, though. I have Memphis and Pitt. So look for them both to lose in the next round.

I should mention, though, that I actually once WON a pool, despite the fact that I'm the furthest thing from a basketball fan. I actually picked that year based on whether I thought one mascot could beat up the other. It worked fairly well until (IIRC) I had to pick between Arizona and Kentucky. Yep, the Wildcats played the Wildcats. I went by colors on that one.

I don't know about "UCON"...but UCONN is likely to choke as usual.

Oh please. My sister(who knows absolutely zilch about college basketball or any other sport) picked those same two teams in her bracket. You're full of crap.

No.

I'm saying that even with a very small knowledge of college basketball one can pick (or come close to picking) the right teams to be in the finals. Past playing history can even be an indication of how a team might perform in the future.

I still think you're full of crap. I mean, come on. Do you really expect us to believe that you just picked the two teams that will be in the finals out of thin air? If you do, then that makes you an even bigger blowhard than Holtdad.*

*sorry, Appa.

I don't expect you to believe anything but that's the truth. I haven't had the time/interest to pay any attention at all to bb.
