I was reading the Sunday paper, as I always do, when My Boonie started to put the old newspapers together to go in the big blue bin.

I was looking at the newspapers and found a section from early in the week. It was called the Food section. I'd never heard of the Food section before.

So I looked at it. And then I started to eat it.

And then My Pretty Lady explained that it didn't mean I was supposed to eat the newspaper. It means that the newspaper has stories about food. I asked her if there were any recipes for cat food. She just rubbed my neck. I guess that means no.

I was terribly disappointed that I couldn't eat the paper but learned that newspapers have Food sections.

One thing you have taught me, missanniecamaro, is that we never stop learning.

I think Miss Denise is pretty smart to figure out which section is the food section.
I am glad you won't allowed to eat it, though.

It was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Denise always plays with Boonie as he gets the paper ready for recycling. He puts it in a beer or soda box and she hits the outside of the box. She always has a lot of fun when she does that. Fun lasts for, oh, minutes.

Today, she stopped hitting the box and looked at a section on the floor. She started to read it and then pulled the front page away from the rest of the section and began to eat the corner of the front page. Where it says, "Food."

It was just so cute.

The newspaper industry hasn't been doing too well. Publishing an edible food section might be great for sales!

Could you teach my two boys that my feet and lower legs are NOT a cat bed? I had to push the 20-pound warm bag of sand off them three times before he took the hint last night. And two minutes after he left, the OTHER one moved over from his comfy position below GW (where there is a large, flat, unmoving surface to sleep on) and tried to take over the spot just vacated by his compatriot. It took FOUR shoves before I finally managed to stop singing choruses of "The Cat Came Back, He Wouldn't Stay Away." All this at 2 AM.

There are some of us who like being slept on by a cat.

This means that this particular cat is sleeping, & not sitting next to my head, putting a clawed paw out to "touch" my face (fortunately, the 1st few such "touches" are always with claws retracted, but the next aren't) & see if that will wake me up.

Which it will.

It will also mean cat gets booted from room, & gets to sleep at his other favorite spot, under the livingroom radiator.

Its nice to know I am equivalent to a radiator.

Last night I put in a load of laundry and curled up on the couch with a blanket and the remote to wait for it to be ready for the dryer, and I quickly got a visit from my Leg Warmer. But he only weighs about 7 lbs, so he isn't a Circulation Inhibitor...

Would not work. The Warm Bag of Sand spreads himself out like a cartoon character when I try to stuff him into the carrier. All four legs in starfish pose. I'd be amused if I weren't the one trying to get him in. Plus he'd yowl constantly if forced to stay in there. Closing the door is not an option, because they'd both yowl, then scratch at the woodwork.

Outdoors is a non-starter. They're both indoor cats, and our street is a major path between two major commuting roads. Plus our neighbors are both police, one of whom is part of the K-9 division with the dog kept at the house. The boys would be too stupid to stay away from next door.

In that case, Warm Bag of Sand would go into Casey's carrier in the garage. The OTHER cat would go into Clayton's carrier in the garage.

We can't hear garage-generated howls from our bedroom, as Nanuk proved when she tried to not be a crate doggie a couple years ago. It sounds hard-hearted, but we figure the folks who are bringing home the kitty nuggets get some perks.
