Tim Fenfert
Harriman, NY
NYPD detective

Tim is happy with how he's done so far, but his buddies in the police department will find
something to tease him about.

Tim's mom, Theresa, and his brother, Dan, are in the audience.

Tim need the money; he's getting married. He and his fiancee, Maria, met on-line. Maria is a world traveler and she changes her desired honeymoon location ever day, but hopefully this money will help pay for a nicer one.

Question Topics:
* The Breeders
* Hello, Guv'nor!
* Clean Jokes
* The Big House
* Don't Call Me Polly
* In Flight
* (Special Delivery)
* (Go West)
* (Pasta)
* "G" Whiz
* The Stones
* Hormones
* Town and Country
* Pleased to Meet You
* Hold It!

Tim has one lifeline left, his Ask The Expert. Today's expert is $500,000 winner (and Bored Buddy) Ogi Ogas.

$25,000
A "shove-it" is an aerial maneuver commonly performed in which of these sports?

A: Skateboarding B: Judo
C: Motocross D: Gymnastics

With 19 seconds left, Tim decides to Ask The Expert.

Ogi: The shove-it, huh? Let's see. I don't think it's in gymnastics. I don't think it's judo. But, ahh, I haven't heard of a shove-it. Do you have any idea?

Tim: No, you know what? My thinking is exactly the same as yours. I'm pretty sure it's the Olympics, I watch a lot of gymnastics. I'm pretty sure it's not that. I don't think it's judo. I'm stuck between A and C, but I really don't know which way to go.

Ogi: You know what? I bet it's skateboarding, just because, ahh--ahh, well, I guess it's skateboarding or motocross. I wouldn't want to steer you wrong. I'm pretty sure it's one of those two. The aerial maneuver part is something that's got to go up in the air. It seems skateboarding is more likely. I haven't heard of it.

Tim knows it's either A or C. He really thinks it's A, but he walks away with $16,000.

Answer
A: Skateboarding ( 0 )

Sounds like a WWOQ®. I'm not even sure if this is Googleable, but I'll try the PAF and see what happens.

I'm starting to grow weary of the "I need the money" hook.

My thought was that a "shove-it" sounds like it belongs in a sport with attitude. Of the sports listed, only skateboarding and motocross seem to have that sort of "ambiance". Since I've already used my DD (on yesterday's show) it's time for another lifeline. I suspect this might be one for the audience, so I'll ATA and be prepared to PAF if the numbers aren't good enough.

And good for Ogi for both coming to the right answer and also not misleading Tim into making what could be a bad choice.

Depends.

Can you type this:

"shove-it" skateboard judo motocross gymnastics

really fast?

Even if you just type "shove-it", the answer shows up- but on about the 8th hit.

I couldn't, but I'd try to pick a Google PAF who is a very quick typist.

It's a game where you hold the apparatus and it instructs you to "bop it", "spin it", "pull it", etc.

So these are the games that are played in a hooligan's formative years.

I was watching last night with my 12 year old son, he announces right away, "it's skateboarding" and then proceeds to demonstrate how it's done on his "air board" (He's not allowed to "use" his real board in the house!!!)

Harriman is the next town over from Monroe.

Funny how there have been a few We/We's from up here in Orange County. Most of them have gone on without any fanfare at all, and they've been mildly successful.

I, conversely, got the article and the pictures in the local paper, and had all the folks in the community buzzing about my appearance, and so they could all watch the Lemony Snicket impersonation.

Funny, last night, a woman I had just met remembered my appearance! (some memory, huh!)
