I thought that this was some kind of environmental thing-- maybe the wax comes from the rain forest or something. Turns out that I am apparently far more naive about the world than I thought.

It would be like banning silicon enhancements.

It would also be impossible to enforce. People have been torturing themselves for fashion for millennia. Unless people start dying as a result of the procedure, I think a legislated ban is a very bad idea.

I think she's right. It won't stop the practice, it will just transfer some of New Jersey's small business income to another state.

I get my eyebrows waxed, and it isn't lava-hot. It shouldn't be, if the person is doing it right. It's also not poured! I still have never had any desire for that type of service, but it sounds more like they should be regulating waxing all around rather than banning it, if people are getting infected. There are some shady places that do it, like the cheap nail places...my face could be covered in hair and I still wouldn't go to one of those, I go to a certified aesthetician (or however you spell that, I know that is probably wrong) who at least has had SOME training.

I was watching one of those Vegas shows on the Travel Channel and they were at this waxing place, and of course my oldest son wanders into the room at that moment, then they started mentioning services available for men.

Like the Sack and Crack Wax. My son winced, then started laughing, then winced again. I don't think he'll be metrosexual in any way in any case, but I doubt waxing will ever be on the list of beauty treatments he'd endure. Just and overdose of Axe, and he's good to go....
