A co-worker's Mom died suddenly

Reportedly she had some kind of just-diagnosed "blood disorder" which killed her within 2 weeks.
(My scientific curiosity makes me, well, scientifically-curious as to what this could have been, but the people closer to co-worker don't know, so neither will I).
She was 54. Really, really sad.

Maybe aplastic anemia??
(A cousin's wife died from this some years ago -- mid-30's, perfectly healthy up till then. Suffered from "flu-like symptoms" and gone within 2 weeks!)

On her 1st visit to the hospital, they did some blood work & sent her home. On her 2nd visit a week later she was put in the ICU, then died. That's how fast whatever-it-was worked.

That's awful!! See, it's things like that, that make me a hypochondriac who runs to the doctor with anything out of the ordinary. You just never know.

Another option is to take the view that running to the doctor didn't help this person, so you can see it that way, and not be afraid.

My grandmother had aplastic anemia....she went to her doc for routine bloodwork (she had diabetes), was admitted to ICU that afternoon because her CBC was so whacked, and died within a couple of weeks.
