Better to have broken chat than a broken head.

Yup, Friday the 13th was a rough one for me. I got kicked in the head, had a lens filter broken and damaged the lens as well. Occupational hazard of being on the sidelines taking pictures at a basketball game. The good news is that we beat UCLA in the semifinals of the PAC-10 tournament. The guy sitting in the seats behind was glad I had stopped the momentum of the player before he reached his seats. The two folks sitting to my right were also concerned and laughed and smiled for the other photographer. Oh well. I am fine and I will be at the tournament final against ASU in about five hours.
Oh, and besides the actor in my avatar, who is the Uncle Fester lookalike?

Are you okay? Do you need to start wearing a goalie's mask to basketball games?
Uncle Fester is Jerry Somebody, who used to be a coach for that team. No, that other team.

There should be a special SportsCenter highlights show for these collisions.

Sounds like there should have been a technical on that play!
Glad you are okay!
Oh and NFC on the other guy. But SC prolly has it right.

Yeah, they would have called it on me! Photographers no the dangers of being courtside or on the sidelines. The photographer next to me said that a couple of weeks ago he was kicked in the head by Kobe. Alas, it was no celebrity templeside footprint for me. Just one of our own players. But I've been hit harder a football game. Luckily it was only a defensive back.

It was indeed Tark the Shark. UNLV. Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy was there along with Pat Riley and ex-USC/WSU coach George Raveling. Melly knows George since he played and coached at Villanova against her agita-inducing Owls. He also has Martin Luther King's original "I Have a Dream" speech.

I always worry about the cheerleaders and photographers so close on the sidelines of these
games. You say OK, so I guess we'll believe you.
My Friday the 13th could have been worse, but it wasn't great. I ended up closing my office
at 3PM due to illness....true story. My boss has been sick all winter - no lie - I'm beginning
to worry about him and wish he'd a find a decent doctor. I have one getting married today.
She would pick the week after Natalie's wedding - she's 39 1/2 - and her intended is 45 - first
marriage for each and they've been dating over 4 years! So needless to say, she was out
yesterday.
My other full time girl came in with a 102 fever, so I promptly sent her out the door on her
way to the doctor. She has some kind of bacterial infection in her throat. Bailey-Harris
was having their 30th anniversary get together at the office yesterday at 3PM, so I just
put a note on my office door and went on my way.
I'm glad my resistance is good, or I'd stay sick. I'm off now to Melinda's wedding. 1:30 on
a Saturday afternoon, what's up with that? It's pouring rain and I have a sinus headache,
but I'll make it. I've had my wedding quota for a while.

For me, Tark is the obvious one. I have no clue who the other guy is.

Are Saturday afternoon weddings unusual in Alabama?
I hope everyone in your office feels better soon!

Yeah, that's normal in CT. 1:30 or 2:00 so that everyone can clear out of the church in time for 5:00 mass. Then the reception doesn't ususally start until 5 or 6 so everyone just has to hang out and wait. Unless the wedding ceremony and reception are at the same venue, then the ceremony is usually later and there is no gap.

In California the weddings are usually held in the morning so the lawyers can get a head start on the divorce papers in the afternoon.

I thought everyone had prenupts in California.

It seemed unusual to me. I think this is my first 1:30PM wedding. Most weddings around here are 5 - 6PM as a rule.
This one was at the church with the reception in the fellowship hall, so there was no band or alcohol involved. Maybe
that makes a difference as to the time, I dunno.
The last few weddings I've attended have all been evening ceremonies with the reception at a different
venue, almost always a band and lots of food and beverages of all kinds.
