The next day the kid brought this to the teacher:
Dear [redacted]:
I work at Home Depot. Just before last week's blizzard, there was a run on snow shovels. About a dozen customers were still trying to buy a shovel when we ran out. I went into the back and found exactly one. When I brought it back to the floor, it was impossible to tell who had been first. A bidding war broke out.
THAT is the scene depicted in my daughter's drawing. I will be much more careful about checking her homework in the future.
