I vaguely remember him from my audition.

So far, so good.

They ran another, longer story about him in the Atlanta Journal today starting at the bottom of the front page. They discussed the similarity between him (a golf caddy) and the Slumdog Millionaire (which he hasn't seen yet).

Here's the URL for that article. There is one quote from Meredith that is somewhat spoilerish, though non-specific.

http://www.ajc.com/services/content/pri ... e0311.html

Then Meredith says this:
She’s not an evil host like in “Slumdog Millionaire,” she says, but she has seen the million won only twice. The hardest moments are when somebody rushes and answers and gets it wrong, she says. Of course, “if you know it,” she says, “you know it.”
Seeing someone rush an answer is hard for you, Meredith? Should I put your name down in opposition to The Damned Clock?

I'm not really sure it's comparable to Slumdog Millionaire. Hmmm a guy learned english from movies, has seen every movie known to man and is doing well on Movie Week? Wow, I wonder how that happens?! That's just a little different from the Slumdog plot.

Yeah, but you know that the Slumdog theme is going to be big with next season's auditions, particularly with the state of the economy.

"Let's find lots of needy, suffering, deserving young contestants. And can we find some long-lost girlfriends to reunite with them on-air?"

For me with the first part, how about three out of four? Passing for young is a lost cause.

As for the second, I think GW might disapprove. :P

I don't know, it'd be pretty tough on them to discard the "young" part. Just how long have you been a slumdog, gs?

He's:

(A) Fairly young
(B) Ethnic
(C) Works at a low prestige, presumably low paying job
(D) Not classically well educated
(E) Presumably not too well off
(F) Only knows a limit subject area but presumably knows it very well.
