Having a great run last month (finishing in the top 100), this month I'm 2 for 9 (that's 2 right, 7 wrong) with missing my first 5 questions right out of the gate.

Eyégor probably will not agree - this month.

I couldn't play for four days because of computer problems and got all four right upon my return. I think I'm now 5-4.

Today I am a Pokey Little Puppy.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Do you know who the American League's MVP was for 1985?

Me, too, neither.

Heck, I started out the month mired in the 11,000's somewhere. Questions I never heard
of thrown at me. I've pulled myself all the way up to 1177, so I consider that success.

The good BBs must not have played yet today. I'm the highest listed at the moment, and I'm only #13 on the list. Missed one so far this month, and been on the slow side. I'm due for some fastballs, though. Today's Q was (paraphrased from the Sploof's convoluted syntax, translation of which contributes significantly to my slowness) what color is Spongebob Squarepants?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

This morning, I missed one that I actually thought I knew. This was a first. Every other miss I've had has either been one I was WAGing on or one for which I chose poorly in an attempt to get speed.
