My sister and b-i-l drove my nephews to Tempe, AZ this weekend to watch the Angels in a spring training game, or two.

I thought the ads on some of the jerseys was a bit tacky. I know many other sports do this although so far none of the "Big 4" (if you count hockey which is borderline at best) do so on the uniform except for the occasional logo by the uniform article maker.

It just doesn't belong in baseball.

Gotta turn this into a political thread:

Members of Congress should be compelled to wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers, so we can identify their corporate sponsors.

This is a superb idea! The IRS also could issue stars or bars for government officials, elected or otherwise, who are up to date with federal and state income taxes.

Okay, I was thinking that the stars or bars could be worn on collars, but epaulettes might be better, so that income tax audits revealing gross irregularities could trigger dramatic ceremonies in which the shoulder decorations could be ripped off in front of national television cameras.
