College Choices
Daughter1111 has now been accepted to her #1 and #2 choices.
She did not get into the main campus of #1 so there is a decision to be made.
Choices are good.

If it helps any, I see lots of satisfied graduates of Hamilton College on television, and they all seem to be working in exciting and challenging fields.

I'm assuming it's a midwestern version of DeVry or Phoenix or one of those "universities" advertising on TV around here.christie1111 wrote:Appa23 wrote:If it helps any, I see lots of satisfied graduates of Hamilton College on television, and they all seem to be working in exciting and challenging fields.

Re: College Choices
There is a Hamilton College in upstate New York; a legitimate institution of higher learning that happens to be the third-oldest college in New York.
But reading Wikipedia, I see nothing that would have prompted Appa's observation, so there must be a reference I'm missing.

BTW, I went to two stores yesterday and neither had Evenly Gorgeous! They had some kind of Tropical Oil wash, but no exfolient.
I have to start lodging complaints with some store managers around here, now don't I!?

Choices are good.
Didn't the eastern campus of USC accept her?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

So there!
I make a joking post, albeit much-less-funny based on the fact that those stupid Hamilton College apparently do not run nationally.
In all seriousness, congrats to your daughter.
Did you say that she would be close to home with one of the schools?

Which Hamilton College does this refer to? The one in New York?Appa23 wrote:I make a joking post, albeit much-less-funny based on the fact that those stupid Hamilton College apparently do not run nationally.

In November 2007, Hamilton College officially changed its name to Kaplan University.

I found a Hamilton University in NE/IA that seems like a DeVry/Kaplan/Phoenix clone.I cannot provide a link from my phone though.

Okay, I can handle the just-not-funny-if-you-haven't-seen-the-ads post. I couldn't understand the post being snarky given the subject matter.Appa23 wrote:Thankfuilly, I did not make a snarky post.christie1111 wrote:Yup, right there with you Marley.MarleysGh0st wrote:There is a Hamilton College in upstate New York; a legitimate institution of higher learning that happens to be the third-oldest college in New York.

And thank you for the congrats.
Both would allow her to be close but the commute for one is about an hour door-to-door. The one she got accepted to today is Southern CT. It is an excellent teaching university. But in a not so nice part of New Haven. She HATED the campus.
So it seems she has already decided she would rather go to UConn.

And here I thought it was somehow a reference to the fact that Claire in Heroes was looking at a brochure for Hamilton before she went on her "college trip".

Congratulations to your daughter!
I was at the mall on Wednesday and there was a giant sign in the center of the mall advertising Evenly Gorgeous. I took a picture of it and will send it to you one of these days.
