This was a big news story on the TV & everything here. I should get the site that had (ugh) the picture of the evidence.

Just in case lb recognizes them.

Oops this one does. When the link originally came up, it didn't, but now it (ugh) does.

Your steaks today were undercooked.....

I'm lucky I didn't lose any teeth in the accident on the way there either.....

Okay--never mind. At least you could tell us there was an accident. I just got an email from Stephen's school telling us the sister of one of his classmates was killed in a skiing accident. She was in 7th grade.

If it had been a normal Friday it wouldn't have happened because usually its just me, my Dad and the LBN. But on the Fridays my mom doesn't work, she goes along with us, so it was all of us plus Sister#4 in my parents' big honkin SUV. Well, we're stopped at a stop sign, and here comes a drunk bastard driving like maniac around the corner and plows right into the front drivers corner of the truck. Just enough to sjake us up, but he did enough damage to where my mom couldn't get the door open. He gets on his cell phone, gets out of the truck, and starts hysterically yammering at whoever he's talking to that he just hit someone and is gonne be going to jail. No insurance, suspended license, and likely wasted or high. The coolest thing about it was that the guy who was following him down the road stopped when he saw he'd plowed into us and gave him a piece of his mind, because apparently he'd almost hit him further down the road. He even stayed until the police showed up to be a witness for us....

The idiot was indeed hauled off, the truck is still drivable but looks like a mess, and I just got to sit through my first automobile accident. I'm surprised this didn't wait till next week to serve as my next Friday the 13th ruination....

No shit.

Glad you guys are all okay and hope the truck can be repaired. At least you weren't in the Little Blue Tin Can!

If not, I sure just felt like I passed something....

If he immediatly thought he was going to jail, then it is likely this is not his first violation.

So be happy that your accident may take him off the road for awhile.

Mini, I'm so sorry to hear about the little girl. That is a tragedy.

Beast, I'm glad that you and your family were not injured. The rest is angry-making and frustrating, but eventually it will all work out and the vehicle will be repaired. Compared to what might have been, the rest is annoyance.

Mini: Condolences to the family of Stephen's classmate. Would Stephen have known his classmate's sister?

Beast: I'm glad you're all OK, even if it did disrupt lunch at Ponderosa. Bravo to the guy who stopped to be a witness.

Can we go back to our drowsy morning when nothing was happening, now? :(

After the last three phone calls and that email, I think I'll just write today off as a loss and just go back to bed...

Not well, but she was in 6th grade when he was in 8th grade, and they lump the middle school all together for stuff and have field day teams with kids outside their grade. Plus it's a smaller school and they call us all family. The parents are fairly active in the school and they had four kids there. She was their only daughter. I left a message on Steve's cell so he can tell Stephen.
