Oops. It looks like the rest of us can stop hoping for a J! call for this spring. A teacher from Adventure Boy's little Idaho town has been called for the last taping day of this season, according to a local news story:

So now the pool people can start hoping for a call out of the blue for late summer. Failing that, it's only 10 more months until the next J! qualifying test.

Whoever wins that day will have a long wait for their next taping, as well as their money. Good luck to the teacher!

I will settle for a live J! audition call that isn't scheduled for the end of May or first week of June. Same days are taboo for any Boston 'BAM auditions. Travel is planned.

On the positive side, they can impress people by saying that they were the defending champion on Jeopardy for four straight months.

I feel a bit badly, as I have been assuring someone that my very strong vibes indicate she would have recieved the J! call by this Spring. Perhaps she didn't take my vibes all that seriously, but I was convinced. If I understand correctly though, she still has a chance to receive the call during the Summer?

You should not feel badly. Perhaps strong vibes are like those tremors that presage the arrival of a mild earthquake to come in the future -- say, the summer or even early fall.

Unless they've changed their procedures, nobody will get calls from that. Instead, watch for an e-mail to tell you where and when to report for the in-person test and interview.

Ace mentioned getting a call for his son for Kid's Week, but that may have been a way for J! to reassure themselves that parental permission was accompanying the in-person follow-up.

If they follow the same time line they did 2 years ago, the e-mails should start arriving in the next week or so for whichever cities are the earliest in the process.

That's what I was figuring as well. The question then becomes which cities are the earliest. I'd love to see an invitation to Chicago come my way toward the end of April or early May.

Sigh. One person from my audition has appeared this year. He was third going into Final Jeopardy, and he got that question wrong because he misread it. Other than that, he was what the producers were looking for, I am sure.
