Came home today

So far so good. To answer a few questions from the earlier thread:
Titanium with a plastic sleeve. Ceramic tends to break and 20% squeak which would end my secret agent career.
I'll look for a new avatar tomorrow.
All but two of the PT exercises are easy. My quads are degenerated and where they cut through makes it difficult and painful to the the leg side-to-side and the leg lifts. But I do what I can and will continue to work it all out.
I have my first full outpatient PT on Friday. It should be interesting.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

Are you going to set off the metal detectors every time you walk through them, now?

Welcome home.
Do what they tell you.
It's amazing how much better PT makes you, just by doing a little bit every day.

Yes I will. I will be given a special ID card explaining where and what the metal is. Maybe I'll get to do that full body scan thing!
Vicatin is a wonderful thing. While in the hospital I was getting a shot intravieniously of pain killer every 6 hours so the pain was very minimal. Last night I was walking around the house and it was more painful than when I was in the hospital doing it. Then I took the Vicatin and about 30 minutes later I'm ready to Samba. Well, maybe not that, but I slept very well, in my recliner. My wife fixed up the bed with pillows but it was just too soft and the covers were restrictive and made it hard to hold my foot verticle. So it looks like I'll be sleeping in the recliner for a week or two (or three).
Already did my exercises for the morning. Sending my wife to Redbox to pick-up Righteous Kill and The Changeling. I've been looking forward to seeing them. I could get Australia but we'll wait until an evening when she can watch it with me on the big screen (upstairs). She doesn't want me going upstairs while she is out and she will be out most of the day conducting a PTO workday up at school.

You're already far more than 20%squeak so you wouldn't have to worry about that.....
Seriously, glad it went well and you're (more or less) up and around.

Keep up the hard work and you'll be Samba'ing through the dance scenes in your next secret agent film in no time.

Last night Leno had a parody.
It was pretty funny.

No, but close.
I think it was called the Sluggie.
It was made of absorbant material so you could wring out the beer you spilled on it back into the glass. There was a warming pocket for you pizza box. And one thing in common with the monologue was that it converted to a body bag.
It was an actual commercial type parody.

As I said in another thread I'm remiss in posting. I wish you quick and relatively painless healing, BiT. Holy moly.
Doing the exercises really does make a difference in recovery, based on my broken wrist ordeal. Though, I'm thinking your rehab will be a bit rougher than mine.

Glad you're feeling okay. Hope you get to feeling better than okay soon.
Don't go overboard on the Vicodin.
