Probably too big.
If you have photobucket or some offsite image storage site, use that- you shouldn't have any problems.

Buff,
If you are getting a message the file is too big, there is a link in the stickies that goes to a web site that'll shrink the pic to fit this bored.
Are you having other problems?

The problem is I literally don't know what to do...I have no idea how to actually make a picture appear here. Zero clue what I am doing.

Buff,
You can edit your profile by clicking on Profile at the top of the page, just under the banner. In your profile is where you can set your avatar and other stuff about your account. Try playing around with the fields in there first, and let us know if you have any problems.
