During a >6" snowfall on the east coast. No one would know about it until too late, because EVERY SINGLE LOCAL, NATIONAL AND CABLE NEWS STATION WOULD BE COVERING ONLY THE WEATHER!!!

I swear, you'd think it never snowed in New England or anywhere else in the country. "What is this cold white stuff falling out of the sky? Look! It's piling up! Emergency! Panic! Man the lifeboats! Buy gallons of milk and water! Stock up on bread!"

I think this is the real ket to stimulating the economy.

Just tell everyone there's a snowstorm coming...spending shoots up.

I went to the grocery store yesterday to pick up a couple of small items.

Place was packed...and I saw cart after cart piled up with bread and milk.

We have 3" so far- at most will get 6".

We'll be stranded for days.

There used to be a time when you could get all the drinking water you needed just by turning on a tap.

At least you have some snow to go with the panic. We havn't had any real snow in six years - still hasn't kept the panic rush to Kroger based on a forecast. One local radio station is about to go insane - they've had their S.W.A.T. (Severe Weather And Traffic) team in place for the last several years. Supposed to be all kinds of radio people stationed all over the local area to give constant updates. The station has run many promo's - filled with mock traffic and weather updates. All they are lacking is the real severe weather to make it real.

Best of luck to all our NorthEast BB's. It will be over soon.

You should have seen how desperate the Myrtle Beach station was to report on snow this morning, the reporters were mobilized for live reports, alas the nearest snow was 70 miles west.

We're on "storm watch" here in LA. 30% chance of rain. I think there's plenty of bread and eggs in the stores. Dunno about the water though. I still drink my whiskey neat.

You forgot to mention the runs (no pun intended) on toilet paper that usually ensues as well.

DC is shut down. Period.

Not a bad thing actually.
