He was brilliant.

Rest in peace, maybe in Riverworld . . .

The Riverworld series is one of the few sci-fi universes I have read besides Heinlein. Loved it. Loved the idea of it. Loved the interactions between and among historical and fictional characters in an otherwordly place.

So who's left from First Fandom, now that Clarke, Farmer and Ackerman are recently gone? I can think of a couple of the 2nd generation (Silverberg, Ellison) and there are certainly more of that group around.

I'll have to put the Riverworld books on my library list for rereading. RIP.

Frederik Pohl is still alive and kicking; he'll be 90 in November.

So long to Riverworld and Kickaha and all the rest; RIP, Phil.
