50,000!

I missed 45,000, not because of any fault of LB’s, I hasten to add. He gave me plenty of warning. So I’m gonna make up for it here.

What am I doing here?

First, I wanted (and want) to be a Millionaire, and I recognized the Bored as a help to get on the show and as an even bigger help if I ever got on the show. I joined up in March of 2000. Hey! My anniversary’s coming up!

Then I started to make friends. I let people think I was a guy at first because I was wary of how women could be treated on message boards after the idiots over at the then-pretty-much-unmoderated sports boards, but it was just as much fun to talk about sports with BDM and OkiePat even if I wasn’t a guy. BTW, I just picked the 68 out of a string of numbers that the ESPN board suggested when it informed me that SportsFan was already taken. I thought I could remember it, that's all -- it was Jagr's Pens number, and that worked.

Then PamJB came along with the QoD. That sort of idea, coupled with the growth and fun that come with people coming up with ever more creative and fun games ideas, even if I didn’t play them, and all heading toward the best statement you can make at the end of the day – “I learned stuff!” Timeline, GenderDefender – Thanks, Taurus! – TBOTS, FNGD, LS, Seven Clues  , ST2N, FT2N, LPS, DoA . . . there must be more, but I can’t think of ‘em…

I miss people – Snail, Aussie, Barb, Amaz, ScrabbleTed, Corn, Oldernow, Macs, Toeth, Ging, Linus, DrJ, CabbyJoe, Dunadan, Puppie . . .

I don’t actually miss PaleRider so much, it’s been a long time since he’s been around, but I miss the idea of PaleRider because he’s one of the people I got to meet face to face, and I treasure every other face to face meeting (especially GoLO!) I’ve ever had (I think I’ve met 26 BBs) and hope to meet more of you – including some four-footers. Except ES. If he counts as a four-footer, not a crazed psychopath with a little drawing talent.

Anyway, it all adds up to a place that’s made a difference for me, and where I’ve made a difference, and where I feel at home.

And I still Want To Be A Millionaire.

And I love Clem.
I just wanted to help you with the bit you forgot...

Yes you did.

It's okay to admit it.

Congratulations on your milestone, Sprots!

So do I. Am I correct in the recollection that you're still waiting for a chance to sit in the Hot Seat, too?

Wow, a feat I'm sure I'll never get even close to accomplishing. However, I'm glad I consider
you a friend even if we've never met face to face. :)

Yep, still waiting.

I took a year off from auditioning because of the election, but I hope to look at something this year.

I intend to meet you in person one of these days -- maybe become one of the infamous Norman Ladies. . .

I literally couldn't have done it without you. I would never have tracked all those Madigan Men and Tea posts.

I'm OCD, but in different ways from the fabulous Notebook Boy. I just came back from tracking down a letter with a typo in it -- can't have that . . .

Me too!

And you!

Thanks for sticking around after you made the Hot Seat.

One of my happiest Millionaire moments was being there in person when you got The Call.

I'm delighted to hear this, and delighted you're a part of this place.

I hope so!

They can have Clem AND you.

No no -- don't thank me. No, it's fine really -- no trouble at all -- they're all yours . . .

Thanks!

Unlike whoever it was Cal was referring to, I do not find it difficult to be mouthy. I chatter on and on and often delete posts before I hit send, probably a dozen this week alone. And during political season, holy cow! I probably deleted as many political posts as I sent. I know you find that hard to believe . . . no, no, no need to thank me . . .

Here's my new avatar, if it turns out and if I can get it to work.

This is SteelersFan and Matias. I know you probably can't see them since they're both in camo.

The little patch on Matias's hoodie says "Moose Club." He's so cute!

Rats! I can't make it work here. I'm gonna try to make it my avatar, see what happens.

Sprots, I'm proud to call you an unmet cyber friend, too. Awesome job, dude. Mouthy rocks!

And that avatar is simply entrancing.

You, SC, Kay, and Herm are folkses I feel like I already know even though I accidentally haven't met you in person yet. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind remark about the avatar. SteelersFan hasn't seen it yet, and it may be gone after tonight when I show it to him. He'll tell me to blow up Matias and crop him.
