James First Resume

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Thu Nov 29, 2007 10:48 am

A little tough, when you haven't had a real job yet LOL.

James' Resume.

Goal – to have a volunteer work experience in animal care

Experience:

Small Rodent Care – I have several hamsters, both dwarfs and Syrians, including one that I got that was pregnant and had 4 babies. They all lived and we gave 2 away and kept 2 and the mother.

Fish – I have had goldfish in a tank and cleaned it and fed the fish.

Cats – I have babysat a friends cat while they were on a trip.

Skills

I am comfortable with small animals and good with kids and old people. I am not afraid to get dirty. I am friendly, honest and have good math skills.

I am available for weekend work, and weekdays after 4 pm.

That's a great resume - for what type of position is he applying?

I'd hire him

I'd hire him especially because I would know his mom did not do the resume for him.

Great job!

He wants to either work at a pet store, or a vet clinic. He knows that the best thing to do is to start with volunteer stuff. We'll get him a Social Ins. number soon, so he might get a paying job

In the USA you get a SS# when you are born.

Wonder how long before you will do that in Canada.

Sounds like he'd be very good at that type of work. I hope he's successful in lining up some work (volunteer or otherwise) shortly. Here in the States we have people who hire "pet sitters". James would be eminently qualified for such a position.

It's too bad he doesn't live around here. There is an organization called Hemopet, which rescues greyhounds, uses them as blood donors for a year, then socializes them. They love to have kids come and play with the dogs. Maddie will be playing with the dogs for community service during her Winter Break.

If I were a signer-upper of volunteers, I would be enchanted that James submitted a resume!

I was going to say define "old people".

Great resume. He should have no trouble getting a position, volunteer or otherwise. Good luck!

Oh, this is so sweet and honest. I wish we could all make resumes like this, without all the fluff BS.
