OMG! That is SO funny! It's a reminder of how much of a comic genius Johnny was - especially when adlibbing stuff.

This was always one of the bits replayed every year on the anniversary show, along with Ed Ames's hatchet trick, Jack Webb's "copper clapper caper" and the shaving cream show with Burt Reynolds among others. I made the effort to stay up to watch each year, just to see what other hilarity they added.
Hard to remember that Dom DeLuise was once fairly slim.
