Down 22% in January, because of the whole salmonella fiasco. I guess the peanut industry was prepared for a good year, in light of the current economic conditions. I personally have not stopped eating peanut butter or peanuts, but I guess a lot of people are freaked out.

Jif is my favorite...I had Skippy in my hand today at the store because it was on sale, but I couldn't do it. Jif Creamy, it's the only peanut butter for me!

I also ate a million peanuts at 5 Guys yesterday...doing my part to help save the peanut industry!

All those do not even taste like peanuts.

I buy fresh almond butter at Whole Foods, the kind where you actually get to grind it yourself into the container. But I feel like that needs to be refrigerated, whereas the regular jar stuff doesn't (is that true? I don't even know) and since I keep peanut butter in my desk at work, I go with the Jif.

Natural peanut butter separates - a layer of peanut oil on top of the jar when it gets opened. It takes a bit of arm muscles and patience to stir it up so it is spreadable. It will stay mixed in the fridge. I always keep my opened jar in the fridge - it has no preservatives.
