WTF? I'm not abig believer in this "Friday the 13th" type shit, but my laptop just died.

I think it's the power supply. No juice at all.

Time to get out the old clunker and see if it'll boot up in less than a half hour, then wait in the Dell chat room for someone to tell me is toast. *sigh*

I'll offer a reason for hope; I received a lemon of a power supply with my laptop; when I brought it in they kept saying the power supply was fine until I had a supervisor test it in comparison with another power supply from the warehouse. Problem was solved.

By power supply do you mean the cord? The cord on my old dell laptop crapped out after about 2 years...bad connection. For a while, I could charge the battery by pushing the cord in really hard while standing on my head and singing Tom Jones tunes. But even that stopped working after a while. (Or maybe my Dell didn't dig my singing...) All was fine after I forked out the dough for a new one. They're not cheap, but way less than a new computer.

Alas, it's not the cord. There was a little *pop* and the battery was fully charged (as was my spare battery, which didn't work either) so rather than just having the power slowly go, it just up and quit.

I'll take it to the geeks tomorrowto see if they can diagnose it.
