Best wishes to Abe Lincoln on his 200th birthday!

And, if I am figuring correctly, this is my 100th Bored post on the current version of the Bored! So both of us Illinoisans (Illinoisians?) can celebrate a 3-figure anniversary today. And yes, I do live in CA now, but my growing up years, and every Christmas, were spent in Illinois.

Congratulations on your 100th post. Since we're honoring Lincoln's birthday today, shouldn't we call him a Kentuckian? He didn't move to Illinois until he was 21 (after an intermediate period in Indiana).

Right. The new Lincoln bicentennial pennies will honor four stages of Lincoln's life, in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.

Maybe the bicentennial Obama pennies will honor his time in Hawaii, Indonesia, Illinois, and D.C.
