Sebastian Grace and the Electric Insects actually existed

William Garret Conway (born May 9, 1946) is an American glam rock singer and songwriter, better known by his stage name Sebastian Grace. The fictional bio for ABC publicity purposes follows:

Every once in a while a band comes along, and this was just such a band. Sebastian Grace and The Electric Insects epitomized the art of living fast and fading faster. Riding to prominence on the backwash of the British Glam Rock Invasion, Grace filled the recording industry's need for a cross dressing rocker who didn't have an English accent.

In 1973 they released their only single "The Last Planet I kissed" which peaked at #27 on the Billboard charts, while the B-Side "Martians On My Mind" only made it as high as #137.

Soon after their album was released, the listening public universally agreed that they shouldn't have bothered and the band split with Grace, declaring that he had "gotten weird."

Sebastian spent the next year consuming massive amounts of psychedelic mushrooms and recording nature sounds for a solo album titled "Cosmic Background Radiation: Hymnals For A Rocket Girl" that was never released, but has floated through the engineering community as a bootleg described as both "ahead of its time" and "total crap" depending on the listener's state of sobriety.

A portrayal this little known "One-Hit Wonder" is depicted on the ABC TV show "Life On Mars," along with a remastered version of his only hit "The Last Planet I Kissed."

Life on Mars ain't all it's cracked up to be.....

I trust you are being facetious I post about 2 prime time shows, including a pop culture Q that might some day show up in WWTBAM , a Jeopardy episode and a WWTBAM episode and I watch every show!!!!!

Of course it is! Pretty much every show I have latched onto from the first night is quickly toast. Every show I watch regularly that is successful is one that I have picked up on after the fact. Survivor: first episode I watched was the Season 1 finale. Lost: Started watching just before Season 2 when my mom got Season 1 on dvd (she was watching it from Day 1). Idol: Season 4. 24: Season 3. The Simpsons: Midway through Season 1. The only exception I can think of in recent memory is Heroes. I think the reason for that is that my son was watching it with me from day 1 and therefore his presence offset the curse. Of course, seeing as how the ratings for "Heroes" are tanking quickly, calling it a "successful" show now is stretching it.

So, I will enjoy "Life on Mars" while I can, as it is doomed.

Oh, and a word of warning: "Dollhouse" will not last. I did not watch it last night, but I did tape it, so that probably means it won't last 6 weeks.

Mostly due to it's time slot, we have wound up watching this show. It has surprised us by being much more entertaining than we expected.

I like the Lieutenant's daughter, but I liked her better on Sons of Anarchy.

No worries. Even if I did start to watch them now, they would be safe. I have to watch the first episode of the series when it airs or shortly thereafter in order to kill it, I think.
