Couple of Interesting Names I've run across recently

Today's obituaries included 93-year old Artillery Abdullah Pruitt. Artillery did, in fact, serve in the US Army.
I've known a few guys with military-rank type names. One was named Colonel -- not only was he
not a Colonel, he served in the Navy. I also knew 2 elderly men both named "Commodore" -- both have since died, and I'm not sure if either of them was in the Navy.
And as of last week one of our nurses has a new grandson. His name? "Hudson!" Yes, after the site of Flight 1549's emergency landing! The grandma wonders, if that hadn't been in the news, what name this child would have ended up with! BTW, Hudson's big sister is named Presley

Why not "Sully"?
All the Hudson did was sit there.

For all I know, that could be the little guy's middle name! I forget what his actual middle name is -- I'll ask Grandma Jane next week.
Of course, Sully's real first name is "Chesley" -- which not only looks too much like the female name Chelsea or Chelsey, but is
way too matchy-matchy with Presley

I'm wondering if my friend Mike will be lobbying to have his first grandchild named Chessley or Sully.

I still think any boy named Chesley's gonna get called "Chelsey" all his life, and get teased about having a girly name.
I forgot one! When I ready the obit on Artillery, I immediately thought of another fellow around the same age -- well, 89 or 90 now if he's still alive anyway. Born in 1919, and (we think!) named for the circumstances of his conception: Quarentine!
Flu pandemic of 1918, y'know.....?

Which, Chesley or Chelsey?
Jane says the name Sully actually
was considered! But not Chesley. Too girly and too rhymey with his sister! So, he's Hudson Ellis Lastname.

Wow! What a strange coincidence that his last name is "Lastname."

Yep!
Actually, their last name is quite distinctive, and I don't want to make it Googlable or let the Spam-bots know of the kid's existence!
But here's a few hints and you can figure it out. The name is a synonym for "poison." If you were bitten by a poisonous snake or spider, this stuff would get into your bloodstream. You should get a shot of "anti-this stuff" to survive.
Oh, and it's the name of Eddie Brock's alter-ego in
Spiderman 3! And yes, it's their real last name.

Then I guess it is a good thing the family isn't a fan of Kurt Russell in "Escape from New York"!

I used to go to school with a girl named Chesley Ruth. At the beginning of every year, she'd have to correct all the teachers who thought her name was Ruth Chesley.
