I would love to know what's going on. I know we're not the only Bored out there putting up with this onslaught....

Due to the graphic nature of the spam that is now being posted, for the time being, I have changed the registration requirement to where an admin must approve of a new account before they are allowed access to the Bored. It is the only thing I can think of to do that will stop this crap...

I will notify Dave and let him handle this however he feels it needs to be....

I picked the wrong night to sleep straight through and miss checking the Bored....

I think the bored should be allowed to view such nudity and put it to a popular vote whether we allow it to continue!

The ONE day I sleep in until 7.......

I wonder if it might have something to do with all the bots, in that it ends up in some index or list of php boards?

Maybe Dave should cut off bot access, because someone looking for BAM stuff would still be able to find it, right? At least I know that new people discovered the board before the upgrade and the attack of the bots.

I think the Bots were always here (Except for Google, which got banned from the beginning), it's just that they didn't show up on the browsing list until after the upgrade.....

Even if the story is really good.

There are plenty of stories on this bored which aren't very good. Some are even incomprehensible.

I would say that you've handled it at least as well as I could.

Since some of the spam-posting accounts have given the appearance of authenticity (setting up avatars and such) it is likely that an actual person is setting them up (as opposed to some sort of automated script) and so requiring an "activation email" probably wouldn't work. So, for now, it's probably best to leave the "admin approval" registration requirement turned on, and wait until the madness passes.

That will, of course, make Merry Men much harder to create. Hopefully, this will be a temporary change.

To be honest, with the registration having been completely open all this time, I'm a little surprised that this sort of thing hasn't happened more in the last ~16 months.

That way he'll grow up with a healthy view of the human body Of course, he's not quite old enough to take off his diaper and go traipsing thru the neighborhood (yet!) But give him a couple of months.
