I had Pealette walk around with Mono - I told her to get more exercise and she wouldn't be so tired.
After she fells asleep at the dining table, I took her to the doctor.

I hope he's OK. Maybe it will turn out to be stress fracture and won't require a plaster cast.
How's the girl's hand? I hope they are both OK.

Daughter1111 broke a bone in her leg when she first started walking. A buckle fracture, sort of like she just stomped down on her foot too hard. She wasn't a fussy baby so didn't do anything other than refuse to walk, which she had been doing non-stop.
I saw the fall, just a sideways slip on a level surface, so I thought all was fine. A little baby Tylenol and to bed. She slept through the night.
Next day there were X-rays and it was broken. I felt awful that I let her go a whole night with a broken leg. I thought I was going to get questioned about how it happened but the Dr. said it isn't the type of injury you get from abuse.
Guess these things happens!

I told Madeleine to quit her fussing and go to school one morning last fall after she told me she had a sore throat. "What a baby!" I thought. She came home that afternoon and when she complained again I could smell her nasty breath. Strep. Gross. I took her to the doc the next day and she did indeed have strep.
When Madeleine was three she had a bad cough. I just chalked it up to her having a cold until she started puking. Fun. I took her to the doc and she had Pneumonia.
Feel better now?

That sounds like what I'd say to Mini-me. He's like the Princess and the Pea sometimes.
If Rain Man complains, I'd rush him to the ER. He got stung by 5 yellow jackets and didn't cry when he was two. He came close to having his fingertip severed by a slamming door, and barely a whimper out of him. He regularly gets carried away and peels half the skin off the bottom of his feet, and the only result is he won't go in the pool because the salt stings.
It just depends on the pattern with the kid.

So Dad had more sympathy than Mom. That's one for Big J's record books!

oh nononononono
He called to tell me he had missed an appointment because it had taken him 1 1/2 hours to walk to his dad's from school, and it should only take about 20 mins. He said it really hurt bad, so I told his dad to take him to the clinic.
I'm not THAT bad LOL

OK, you told Dad to take him. After Big J had to drag himself home with a broken foot!
This story will be extra good for Big J's grandkids some day, after it gets elaborated with the huge snow drifts and blizzard conditions, going uphill both ways...

My mom had my sister walking around on a broken leg for a day because Mom didn't really believe that whatever my sister had done could have actually broken it. Needless to say, this one is still in my sister's storybook, even though she's now taking care of Mom 24/7.

Don't stress about it mama....after coaching gymnastics for a lot of years and working in a few ERs, I learned that ankles and feet are funny like that. When you're totally sure it's just a sprain, there's probably a broken bone in there. When it hurts like hell and you just know you've broken something, you likely have not. A couple of years ago, a family friend asked me to come have a look at her son's ankle. He'd done something to it playing basketball while on vacation, and they'd all been telling him to suck it up for about 3 weeks. Sure enough, it was broken. They felt badly about it, but surprisingly enough the kid survived the incident and didn't dislike his parents anymore than he (at 14) already did to begin with.
