It's time for Theme Thursday, and I'm posting it early so the LS Meister can get an early start to his 3 day weekend. No, not from my real job, just from LS. That's because we have lined up a special guest to host this week's Friday game that we hope you will enjoy....

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and 3 points for the theme of today's game....

1. All that I need is just one moment in your arms
I was chasing your affection
I was doing you no harm
And I was loving you

2. First class and fancy free
She's High Society
She's got the best of everything

3. Would you tremble
if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this.

4. See, it was just too soon to tell
and looking for some parallel
can be an endless game
We said goodbye before hello
my secrets she will never know

5. Time has gone since I've been with you, and we've been starting to die.
Now it seems you don't care for me, and I don't understand why

6. Now this drifter's world goes 'round and 'round
And I doubt that it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams I've lost or found
And all that I ain't got

7. I don't know too much
But I know love the way I've been touched
It's your love that heats me up
And there's no such thing as too much
'Cause I don't know when it's time to stop

8. You keep lyin' when you oughta be truthin'
You keep losing when you oughta not bet
You keep samin' when you oughta be a'changin'
What's right is right but you ain't been right yet

9. There's a log on the fire
and it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire..
to take me away

10. Please stop pulling at my sleeve if you're just playing,
If you'll not take the things you make me want to give,
I never cared too much for games and this one's driving me insane.
You're not half as free to wander as you claim.

11. This is the end
You made your choice
And now my chance is over
I thought I was in

12. Sometimes it's hard to believe
That you're never coming back for me
I've had this dream that you'd always be by my side
Oh, I could've died

Theme?

Bonus (2 points) - Just because I like Estonut so much, I removed one of the songs from today's game at the last minute because it has already appeared in another LS game this year. (And holy fricking crap, they are playing it on Music Choice as I type this!!!!!   ) What is the song I removed from today's game that has already appeared and fits the theme?

I can't imagine doing any worse than this...
1. All that I need is just one moment in your arms
I was chasing your affection
I was doing you no harm
And I was loving you

Soooooooooo familiar!

2. First class and fancy free
She's High Society
She's got the best of everything

She's So High? Whatever it's called. I like it but I don't know who sings it.

3. Would you tremble
if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this.

Familiar

4. See, it was just too soon to tell
and looking for some parallel
can be an endless game
We said goodbye before hello
my secrets she will never know

Once again, familiar

5. Time has gone since I've been with you, and we've been starting to die.
Now it seems you don't care for me, and I don't understand why

Much Too Late For Goodbye, Julian Lennon

6. Now this drifter's world goes 'round and 'round
And I doubt that it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams I've lost or found
And all that I ain't got

Please Come to Boston, some guy

7. I don't know too much
But I know love the way I've been touched
It's your love that heats me up
And there's no such thing as too much
'Cause I don't know when it's time to stop

Nope! Not familiar at all! Yay! One that isn't nagging me!

8. You keep lyin' when you oughta be truthin'
You keep losing when you oughta not bet
You keep samin' when you oughta be a'changin'
What's right is right but you ain't been right yet

Can I admit I love this song? It's cheesy, but great. These Boots Are Made For Walking, Nancy Sinatra

9. There's a log on the fire
and it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire..
to take me away

Semi-Familiar

10. Please stop pulling at my sleeve if you're just playing,
If you'll not take the things you make me want to give,
I never cared too much for games and this one's driving me insane.
You're not half as free to wander as you claim.

Exceedingly familiar! And that third line pretty much sums up how I'm feeling at this moment....

11. This is the end
You made your choice
And now my chance is over
I thought I was in

Nope

12. Sometimes it's hard to believe
That you're never coming back for me
I've had this dream that you'd always be by my side
Oh, I could've died

Familiar

Theme?

I have three songs I'm sure of, and they deal with separation or leaving. I have two artists, and they have famous fathers. So the theme is People Who Left Their Famous Fathers, Like Angelina Jolie. :P

Or, absolutely nothing like that, I'm sure.....

You took out Goodbye to You, by Scandal, because it's a separation song and likely to be playing on a channel you're listening to.

As a matter of fact, I am aware that I suck at this, if that's what you're thinking...

LESS-FAMOUS RELATIVES OF FAMOUS PEOPLE. I WAS GOING TO SUGGEST THAT YOU COULD HAVE INCLUDED SOMETHING FROM SUPERTRAMP, AS THEIR FOUNDER, RICK DAVIES, IS THE BROTHER OF RAY AND DAVE. I WAS TOLD THAT AT THE FIRST ROCK CONCERT I EVER SAW, WHICH WAS OF COURSE SUPERTRAMP, WITH THE FIXX OPENING, AT THE BRENDAN BYRNE ARENA IN, I THINK 1983. BUT NOW THAT I LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET (AFTER DOING ALL MY ANSWERS, OF COURSE), I CAN SEE NO EVIDENCE THAT IT'S TRUE. I LOVE WHEN SOMETHING I'VE REPEATED AS FACT FOR MORE THAN HALF OF MY LIFE TURNS OUT NOT TO BE TRUE.

Like I have that kind of memory. I don't even remember the songs from YESTERDAY..all I remember is you telling us not too long ago to "remember this song..it will come up again". But do you think I remember what it was? Of course not. Hey, I have to keep what little memory powers I have left for things like remembering the names of 10 grandchildren and their birthdays. When my electric bill is due. And when the new season of South Park starts. In ten years I'll be lucky if I can remember the directions to the bathroom! So no, I won't be collecting my two points on this bonus. It may mean the difference between 1st place and fifth place, too! I hope you're happy, humiliating an old man like this. I'm so upset, I am throwing a vicious emoticon at you. Take that :x !! and that  !! and that :D !! Oops, wrong one..that  .

Serves you right. I hope you've learned a lesson. Sorry I had to resort to that, but you brought it on yourself.

Horkstow Grange, the song from which Steeleye Span got its name ("pity for old Steeleye Span") even though the current tune for it by a Steeleye Span member, I think anyway (Steve Perry?) is not the traditional tune, & in my mind owes a lot to Cindy Lauper's "True Colors", which is not a bad tune to owe a lot to, though

as in, I can be obscure about my favorite music too

It fits the theme in that to me the theme is "I dunno"; could be "covered songs", in which case it really would fit, because the original was done by A Nony Mouse, & I dunno it anyone ever wrote down its tune

11. This is the end
You made your choice
And now my chance is over
I thought I was in

NOPE

12. Sometimes it's hard to believe
That you're never coming back for me
I've had this dream that you'd always be by my side
Oh, I could've died

NOPE

Theme? All of the artists I know have famous "celebrity" relatives (Michael Penn is Sean's brother, I think; Julian Lennon is John's son; Nancy Sinatra is Frank's daughter; Keith Carridine has a couple of famous brothers; and Dave Loggins is, I think, Kenny's cousin).

You had another Julian Lennon song earlier in the year....was it VALOTTE? The one that has "Sittin' on a pebble by the river, playing guitar" in it.

I actually wonder these things...anyone have an answer???

These Boots Are Made For Walking/Nancy Sinatra, with mucho arrangement help from Lee Hazelwood; there is a simpering cover by Jessica Simpson, if you can even call it that; never thought I'd be holding Nancy Sinatra up as an untouchable singing icon, but comared to Simpson, she surely is on this one
I E-mailed RadioDude the last time he played a song by the cover ghost mentions and told him if he ever played another one, I'd switch to Brand X.

Like I say, that was the last one.

Spoiler
1. All that I need is just one moment in your arms
I was chasing your affection
I was doing you no harm
And I was loving you

Shadow Dancing - Andy Gibb (What a tragic story. I still remember a poster of him in pink satin pants. I think he was wearing a blue satin ball jacket too, but I don't remember that nearly as well as the pants. Ha!)

2. First class and fancy free
She's High Society
She's got the best of everything

She's So High - Tal Bachman

3. Would you tremble
if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this.

Hero - Enrique Iglesias (I love this song! I was singing it day before yesterday trying to jog somebody's memory on who he is. I finally gave up and said 'the guy that's boffing Anna Kournikova". I wonder if Clem will get this, since it figured prominently in a Scrubs episode.)

4. See, it was just too soon to tell
and looking for some parallel
can be an endless game
We said goodbye before hello
my secrets she will never know

5. Time has gone since I've been with you, and we've been starting to die.
Now it seems you don't care for me, and I don't understand why

Much Too Late for Goodbye - Julian Lennon

6. Now this drifter's world goes 'round and 'round
And I doubt that it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams I've lost or found

You keep samin' when you oughta be a'changin'

The Boots are Made for Walkin' - Nancy Sinatra (although Jessica Simpshit would also fit the theme. Ha!)

9. There's a log on the fire
and it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire..
to take me away

Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry (My theme was going to be lesser relatives, but I seem to recall throwing a shutout (or close to) when I used Buffalo Stance so maybe EE is more famous than Neneh. Maybe not.)

10. Please stop pulling at my sleeve if you're just playing,
If you'll not take the things you make me want to give,
I never cared too much for games and this one's driving me insane.
You're not half as free to wander as you claim.

12. Sometimes it's hard to believe
That you're never coming back for me
I've had this dream that you'd always be by my side
Oh, I could've died

You're in Love - Wilson Phillips (Okay, that's two WP songs so far. That's the limit!)

Theme?

I was going to say relatives of other singers/musicians until Keith Carradine showed up. So I could just say people who are the hottest members of their respective families. But instead I'll just say people from famous families.

Bonus (2 points) - Just because I like Estonut so much, I removed one of the songs from today's game at the last minute because it has already appeared in another LS game this year. I'd say you were very happy that Julian Lennon did two songs that anybody ever heard of. Ha!

The first time it was played was when he was dunking the basketball in front of Turk. Which is what made it so funny when they played it again when he picked up the ID BADGE!
