And you all thought things were gonna git better with me out of office?
Nice going, Obama! There's 500,000,000 people that won't be voting for you in 4 years!

Every two years. And every two years the knuckleheads in her district keep sending her back. Then again, I would be interested in seeing who is running against her...

Every two years, the same as the rest of the US House of Representatives.
Why would it be different?

If you counted all 57 states, there would be a lot more than 500 million Americans.

Cindy Sheehan ran last time. What more do you want?

Come on y'all. She intentionally is saying that so we will understand the need for an additional $1 billion for the 2010 census.
Look how bad of a job the 2000 census did. They didn't count roughly 70 percent of the people.

Well, I think that really says something about our current political system when the best they (whoever
they are) can throw against Nancy Pelosi is Cindy Sheehan.

Kind of amusing that the complainers about Pelosi's smarts include someone who doesn't know how often the Speaker of the House is elected and someone who can't calculate what percentage of 500 million is 200 million (or thinks there are 150 million people in the US).

Those that tend the deride the math genius of some should themselves condider their own foolishness.
I wasn't considering that Ms. Pelosi was trying to state that every single American lost their job every month. If that is what she meant, then yes, my 70% is wrong.
Do you think that is what she meant?
My 70% (which was just a made up number for effect not accuracy) when applied to the 200 million would mean the popultion is actually 667 million, which still would mean 75% of us all lose our jobs each month. I guess I should have said 99%.
But I didn't think any of the anal idiots were reading.

Isn't the U.S. population up to 300 million? Hell, I think (based on a Prime Time
Millionaire question I recall) that the official number from the 2000 census was 286 million. --Bob

Let's look at the record. You said:
BackInTex wrote:Look how bad of a job the 2000 census did. They didn't count roughly 70 percent of the people.
The 2000 census counted about 280 million people. If they didn't count 70 % of the people, that would mean there were actually around 930 million people. If there were actually 500 million people, that would mean they counted about 150 million people.
BackInTex wrote:Do you think that is what she meant?
No, I think she meant 500 thousand people are losing their jobs per month. So would any other reasonable person in the Solar System.
BackInTex wrote:My 70% (which was just a made up number for effect not accuracy) when applied to the 200 million would mean the popultion is actually 667 million, which still would mean 75% of us all lose our jobs each month. I guess I should have said 99%.
But the 200 million is not the population under any scenario, it is the difference in population between the stated 500 million and the actual (current, more or less) 300 million. If you want the % missed, you would take 200 million divided by 500 million, not divided by 300 million.

I am not the one saying an obvious numerical slip of the tongue is evidence of a lack of knowledge. You, on the other hand, can't justify your dumbassedness as a slip of the tongue, since you have typed it for all to see and marvel at.

I think that the 2000 Census showed only about 180 million were between the ages of 18 and 65 (essentially the working public).
Looking at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, they list 125 million as the approximate possible civilian labor force (right around 66 percent of the adult population).
Moreover, 500,000 people are not losing their jobs every month. There was a decrease in the payroll numbers of 500,000 (really, slightly more) during one month (December 2008). I am guessing that some percentage was retirees. (Still, not a good sign for the national economy.)

Actually, what's even funnier about all this is that there are nearly 300 million people in the US (291 M as of the 2000 census!)
LOL!!! This has been a day for errors on the Bored!

For the record, 500 million stated - 300 million counted = 200 milliion missed.
% missed = 200 million/500 million = 40%

Old Catholic School joke: the rhythm method of birth control is 100% effective, the problem is, Catholic girls can't count to 28.
