While Detroit had riots after Pistons title wins in the past, there was nothing like that for the Red Wings Stanley Cup victory last year.

I'm not trying to prove a point one way or the other but I think that was the only Phoenix title in pro sports, wasn't it? I guess Arizona State has won titles.

I was in Oakland after a Pitt-Penn St nite game(Pitt spanked em).A Massive crowd gathered on the main drag around 3 am.A caravan of police wagons approached 4 wide with cops on foot and on horses.I was sittin on a wall eting some grub.A cop approached my group, and said:

cop:go home.
guy in group:I have a right to be...
cop:Get in the paddy wagon.

I left.

OK. I didn't know if anything had happened and only found the story while looking for the previous Phoenix championship.

Only the Dbacks closest was U of A (Tucson) winning NCAA Basketball 1997 runner up in 2001 and in final four 1988, 1994
