The only laundry detergent they sold in the resort was Small and Mighty, so I bought some.

Nothing can get WDW lollipop stains out, though. Not even Stainlifter. I'll try again with some Oxy Clean, but the last thing Erin dropped her candy on had to be thrown out. I'm not sure that dye should be edible.

Anyway, what would "grine 'ono pupus" mean in pidgin Hawaiian? Steve bought Rain Man this hilarious t-shirt, but that phrase doesn't make any sense to me.

grine = grind, as in eat

ono = good, as in tasty

pupus = appetizers, but I would translate to any food

:wink:

Aha!

The shirt is one of the Local Pride ones, and it has Obama In Da House on the back, with a picture of the White House draped in a lei. It's surrounded with phrases like "Yes, we can... host one lu'au on the South Lawn and 'imu one pig too!" and "Yes, we can... put one bumpa stickah on da presidential limo dat says live aloha."

So we can grine 'ono pupus in da situation room. And no shame wear rubbah slippahs in da West Wing!

My favorite new Hawaiian word that I saw on a good number of shirts in Oahu over the holidays, usually worn by locals or surfer dude looking haole's, was "Ainokea".

Unfortunately the company now seems to be out of business or I would get one.

Are you familiar with that one Donna?

:mrgreen:

Ainokea = I don't care

Fun in the sense that it looks like an Hawaiian word with out actually being one, just pidgin.

But I am not familiar with it's recent popularity on shirts.

It was all over the place. There is a website but it appears defunct. Pam's sister Donna has one of the shirts but she was the one who told me they have gone belly up even though the website still seems to be fairly functional.

And here is this recent Craigs List site with some of the stuff. Looks like they are selling the leftover inventory.

I hope someone got one of those shirts for Thousandaire! :)
