Re: Final January Sploofus Standings
Might've been able to make a run, if we'd had power.
I answered all the rest of my Jan questions this morning, and got them all right, with some very good times in there.
Then missed the first question of February -- my absolute least favorite type of geography question: which one of these countries does this river NOT flow through.
I'm not good at geography to begin with, but the negative type questions are particularly hard for me to conjure.

Look at me coming in dead last.
Oh well, I've missed my first two in February, so I'm consistent.
Sports q on how somebody's perfect game ended..fly out, ground out to short, called strike and one other
choice. Needless to say, I had no clue.

Why don't I get those questions!?!?!? My perfect month went in the toilet this morning with a damn Shakespeare question....
I'm betting it was Don Larsen's perfect game....

Yeah, we missed you at the top of the table. It's too bad that circumstances cost you a chance to compete.mrkelley23 wrote:Might've been able to make a run, if we'd had power.

I'm happy with my final result but I can't help but feel it should really be just a bit lower.
OK, not "happy" since I lost but I can live with it.

Re: Final January Sploofus Standings
I was all pissed at myself because I forgot to log on Saturday and answer the last question. I think if you don't answer the questions during the actual month, tough doodies - is that right? Turned it didn't matter because when I actually did play on Sunday I got it wrong anyway. I got several wrong the last week or so.
But February got off to a really good start - apparently some part of my subconscious knows what Bright's Disease is, even though the rest of me doesn't. I clicked fairly quickly on the answer and it was right. Go subconscious!

I'm not sure if I should admit that the 1000aire on this list isn't me... since he's doing much better than I am.

When I answered my first February question, someone had scored all 2000 points for that one.
Sometime when I am hopelessly behind for a month, I will try clicking on an answer without reading, to see if 2000 points is even possible.

That's not a bad strategy. Seems to me, the first answer is the correct one more than it should be statistically.Ritterskoop wrote:When I answered my first February question, someone had scored all 2000 points for that one.

2000 has been known to happen on fast connections before. I've gotten 2000 once. Usually it's about 1600 on such connections, though.

I got 1600 on the Feb. 1 question. I don't think I'll ever beat that time.

January was my best showing to date finishing 21 overall and making it to the top ten for the bored.
