Regis' contestants to Meredith's
Now that I’ve been here a while, I think it’s time I shared something about myself and Millionaire. I think people should know that I’m so obsessed with Millionaire that I’ve actually made contestant comparisons between those from the Regis version and those from Seasons 3 through 6 on the Meredith version, based not on personality or what edition they appeared on, but on a formula I used based on prize values, lifeline usage, etc. This took me a few months to work on and I’ve finally got it finished. Right now, I’ll give you the people from SyndiBAM I’ve connected with those who won the million dollars and those who walked away with nothing on Primetime BAM. Then, as time progresses, I’ll give you the rest of the results one by one and those from SyndiBAM who don't come on by the time I'm finished will just be pushed into the Fastest Finger barrel. If you're surprised by any of the results, again, it’s not based on personality or how easy the questions they got were or anything. It’s based on a formula. But anyway, here are the first results I’ll give you and tell me what you think.
$1,000,000

Sorry, but I don't get it.
I see the names of the nine folks who won $1MM on Prime Time and I see names of 9 folks who did very well on Syndi. But I don't understand what you're trying to imply, or what the connection between each pair of names is.
Could you please explain it a little more?

Well, first of all, I think we're all shocked, shocked that someone on this Bored would be obsessed with Millionaire! And posting on-topic posts about it, too!owenziligation wrote: But anyway, here are the first results I’ll give you and tell me what you think.
But, beyond that, you haven't disclosed the details of your formula, so it's hard to judge what you're comparing. You're matching up equivalent strength performances from the two editions of the show?
Most of us accept that TPTB were looser with the question difficulty in primetime, because they had a bigger budget. And every stack is different; some of the big primetime winners came back for that champions week and had widely different outcomes with their second appearances.
But post your formulas. I'm sure you get some detailed feedback about them.

Re: Regis' contestants to Meredith's
The formula that I've based this off of is this:
1. I listed all the winners of Regis and Meredith's versions by their prize values and listed their lifeline order.
2. I'd then relist the people on each prize value list from who held on to their lifelines the longest to the shortest. (ie. If I were to list the people who won $100,000 based on lifeline usage, I'd put whoever held all their 3 lifelines up to their last question at the top and whoever used up all their lifelines by say, $4,000 or lower at the bottom)
3. I'd figure out who would have won the more money by checking off people who are highest and lowest on each list. When I listed the people who won $1,000,000, I used all 3 of the $500,000 winners and 6 of the 7 $250,000 winners. Dante Constable was right in the center of the $250,000 list, so I put him down as a $500,000 winner. So after I put Dante down as a $500,000 Winner, I'd check off the people who are highest and lowest on the $100,000 list to put down as $500,000 and I'd put the people who are in between down as $250,000 winners. And when there were more $250,000 winners than there were people from the $100,000 list who were in between those I put down as $500,000 winners, I'd check off the people who are highest and lowest on the $50,000 list, and put them down as $250,000 winners, and so on.
If it still sounds confusing, just keep in mind that I'm kind of young and I have Autism so it's kind of hard to explain things very clearly for me. And I'm just a Millionaire nerd!
It's probably going to take me a long time to be able to explain this whole thing. I hope I didn't just ruin my credibility here by confusing everyone.
If it looks to never get clear, I could find a way to get this thread locked.

Maybe I can explain it simply, the name from SyndiBAM next to the name from Primetime BAM is SyndiBAM's possible answer to the Primetime contestant. (ie. SyndiBAM's apparent result for John Carpenter is Ogi Ogas, their apparent result for Brian Fodera is Chase Sampson)

I find your list interesting. I still must confess I still don't understand it totally. But one thing I do appreciate is that I think you have me winning $500,000 when I know I won 400,000 less. lol

One of my favorite fake names from the un-MLBPA approved Ken Griffey, Jr's baseball game for the Super Nintendo was the name they gave pitcher Dave Stewart's equivalent....
