BBs helping BBs

Departing from my political posts, I would like to share a heartwarming story (which may get rather lengthy) in which I solicited the aid of another BB who came through like a champ.
The story begins in Sept of 2007.
When I was living in S.C. we lived next to a friendly couple original from Russia (whom I will call Nina) who had decided to move to Florida where the husband would be able to find more work. Rather than sell their house, they decided to rent it figuring they could hold onto the house and use the rent from the income to pay the mortgage just in case they wanted to move back to S.C. So, in Sept of 07, they rented the house to a young couple, whom I will call John and Mary (how creative, I know). Anyway, things were going fine for the first month or two but then John and Mary started to fall behind on their rental payments. This would develop into a deepening and ongoing thing so Nina decided that she wanted them out of the house and she would just sell it rather than go through the aggravation of constantly have to chase J & M for the rent. Well, as it turned out, this would develop into more than Nina bargained for. They would not leave and all efforts to get them out were met with dead ends. By this time, we had moved here to Iowa but we kept in touch with Nina to see how she was doing with the situation. On more than one occasion she would call Lady G in tears not knowing what to do and all but telling her that she was just going to walk away from the house and let the bank deal with the eviction. We told her not to do that, that we would help her somehow.
So, I had a brainstorm. I happened to know a lawyer type right there in S.C. - one of our own BBs - tmitsss. So, I contacted him and asked if he could help. He said he would get in touch with Nina and get the particulars and see if he could help. This was in early summer, if memory serves.
It seems that this was not J & M's first rodeo as they had pulled this stunt before and he just happens to work as a loan officer for a bank. So, this told us that he knew the ins and outs our foreclosures and it was our belief that he was trying to get Nina to walk away so that he would buy the house at a foreclosure price. I asked tmitsss to do whatever he could to help her and get these people evicted. But, J & M were clever. They asked for postponements and other tricks with the courts whenever it came time to go before the judge to try to settle the matter. I don't know all the ins and outs of these things but suffice it to say that not only was Nine becoming increasingly frustrated, but tmitsss told me that he was pissed and was going to get this guy out!
So, to make a very long story shorter, earlier in the week, the case went before the judge and the judge ordered J & M to vacate the property by next week. John also agreed to pay back rent that was due Nina. Needless to say, we got a joyful, tearful, call from Nina thanking us up and down for helping her out. Lady G and I gave each other a high-five for hearing that the scumbag will be gone by next week. She told us that she will stay in S.C. to make sure that J & M are out when they are supposed to be and that she will change the locks once they are gone. Then, she will put the house up for sale.
I wanted to extend a personal thank you to tmitsss for helping Nina.
This sort of thing gives me a warm fuzzy.
