I finally dug myself out of the ice and snow

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 8:09 am

My electricity went out at 10:15 on Tuesday night, along with almost the entire city of Frankfort.

I had to take a second personal day from work yesterday because of the citywide blackout. Besides, there was 5 inches of snow on top of 1/2 inch of ice on top of my car, my driveway, and my street, so even if I wanted to go to work, I couldn't.

I was cold, hungry, and bored all day yesterday. No electricity, no hot water, no TV, no computer, no microwave.

Today, my street is clear and parts of downtown (including my office) have power, so I decided to go to work. It took me 30 minutes to clear off all of the snow and ice from my car and windows. It took another 5 minutes to get out of the driveway.

I hate winter.

I don't hate winter - I hate winter weather.
