Just curious-did you get your royalty check yet?

After hearing you were in The Happening-I got it from Netflix.

I figure you must get a nickel every time somebody watches the movie and that is why I will just keep cycling it thru my Q. I will send it back and then get it again-I should be able to do that 2-3 times a week. 2.5 times 52=105 nickels =a cool $5.25 annual royalty for you just from the Spocks-I expect half of that.

You know-if I upgrade my netflix membership to 8 movies at a time-we could be really on to something here.

And FTR-I did not think it was that bad.

The Razzies do not go to the worst movies of the year. They go to mediocre or bad movies from big name people, in this case Shyamalan and Wahlberg.

When the film came out, I mentioned that I thought it was well directed, but rather poorly written. Shyamalan the screenwriter seems to have run out of good ideas. What he needs is to take a good script written by someone else and then direct it. Hitchcok didn't write a screenplay since his silent film days. If he works with a good script

To be brutally honest-some of the blame has to lie with Driscoll as well.

A little Gratuitous nudity would have helped the diner scene.

Imagine how much better the scene (and the movie) would have been if Driscoll had played the scene topless.

Who is Driscoll?

Speaking of gratuitous nudity I can say with conviction that Frances Fisher showing up topless in "In the Valley of Elah" did NOT help the movie one bit! Now if it had been Theron it might have worked...

She is an actress of infinite talent and beauty. She walks softly like the light of dawn.

And she's a basketball fan.

Is that Melly's last name?

Never knew it.

Then again, I don't know what TLAF stands for either.

Reindeer Games (the director's cut) ..... Theron's best performance.

2 Days in the Valley..... Theron's second best performance (and her first film credit).

TLAF = The Lovely Ann Ferrante (Melly's mom)

Mother of God, what kind of a thread is this!

:D

Driscoll is my last name. I am billed as Woman Passenger.

TLAF stands for The Lovely Ann Ferrante, who is my mother. She got the nickname YEARS ago, after old neighbors would come up to me at get-togethers and say, "Oh, you're one of the Ferrantes. I just don't know which one." I would reply, I"m Ann Ferrante's daughter and it grew from there.

But it was cemented when we went to my friend Theresa's house for her annual Easter brunch about 10 years ago.

I don't know a time I didn't know Theresa. Her mother used to come into Mom's card and gift store all the time and made sure our poppies were straight on our Girl Scout sashes before we walked in the neighborhood Memorial Day parade.

Now, both Theresa's grandfather and her father, Mr. O'Leary, worked at the same bus barn with my grandfather and father. And Mr. O'Leary and my dad were drinking buddies from way back.

Mr. O asked Theresa who was coming to brunch. Theresa mentioned her in-laws and us.

"Who's that?" he asked.

"You know them. From the old neighborhood."

He said he didn't.

"You worked with her dad." Well, Mr. O said he knew dad but not his wife.

"What's her first name?" I don't know, Dad. It's Mrs. Driscoll.

So, we walk in for Easter brunch and Mr. O turns to Theresa and bellows. "theresa! you didn't tell me Ann Ferrante was coming!"

My mother hadn't been Ann Ferrante for some 48 years at that point. AND Mr. O'Leary danced at her wedding.

And that's how TLAF BECAME TLAF.

And, Spocky, you naughty boy, you!
