Redd Fox played a role, Fred Sanford, that was based on the role of Albert Steptoe in the British TV series, Steptoe and Son. The actor that played Albert Steptoe was Wilfrid Bramble. Bramble played Paul McCartney's grandfather in the film A Hard Day's Night
In the film there are references to Bramble's Steptoe character.

Not sure that this makes Redd Foxx Paul McCartney's grandfather but it is a connection.
