Former teammate of Babe Ruth and oldest living ex-major league baseball player.
Werber had signed with the Yankees and traveled briefly with the 1927 Murderers Row team while still in college, but didn't make his major league debut until 1930. He also played for the Red Sox and Cincinnati, and was Duke's first All-American basketball player. Another claim to fame was that he was the first batter in the first televised big league game as Cincinnati's leadoff batter in 1939.
Age 100.
