elwing and I spent yesterday evening poring over insurance programs, trying to decide which plan to choose based on various needs (dental and prescription drugs are major areas). My eyes glazed over as I tried to comprehend the differences among the various plans, the amount they charge, and other arcana. The good news is that we get to choose a plan that's affordable - one of the benefits of working for Uncle Sam. But I can understand why some would like a single-provider system.

Picking a health plan is something I always dread doing. It is part future telling and part hope.

Hope you chose correctly.

If I'm still contracting when Citi stops paying for three months in full for my COBRA and then half for another three months, I'm going to have to find a new plan. I have a great plan: $100 deductible then 95% copay for certain doctors, 90% for others, but I can't see paying in full for the premiums. :(
