or sort of. I will be doing some counseling for military families locally at their weekend fairs and other events. Should be interesting. They want me to take the Miliatary Sensitivity Course in preparation of going out into the field.
Yes, I already got a call from the Brass asking me if I would ever be available for a 1 -3 month assignment overseas (sure I'll go to Iraq or Afghanistan!)....NOT! I'll keep it local and on weekends when I have some extra time. Hopefully I will be able to help these families adjust to returning to civilian life or going the other way into the combat zones.

This is a much needed service that you will be providing. Thank you for doing this.

Good for you! I did my share of that in the 70s. I don't expect it's gotten easier.

I signed up for the gig without knowledge of any renumeration, but it sure helps me and my wife during these very tough economic, especially being one who makes 75% of my income from investment activities.
Military personnel make sacrifices for themselves and their country that most of us can't even phathom. Thanks to the service people of America, they are "the best that they can be".

I hope you are going to be remunerated, not renumbered. :)

Just read that the military suicide rate is the highest it's been in two decades. Terrible stats! I need to be sensitive to the depression issue and how it relates to financial troubles for our armed forces as well. So far the hardest part of the training classes I am taking online is the different military insignias. Geez they all look the same to me!

The non-military suicide rate is the highest it's been in over 20 years too. :(
