Just checking folks' opinions.

I voted yes and my yes has an 'only if' attached to it.

Only if you won't get your feelings hurt, feel unimportant, unloved, not part of the communiuty, or take yourself away from us, if no one buys whatever you are selling.

You may not be selling anything, but you get my drift.

All of the above are already true, except for the communiuty thing.

And I am selling stuff. But if no one here wants it, it's just not what they want. I just ask that if you know someone who might want it, you tell them about it.

I have strings attached to my "if," as well.

I don't want this place to become a commercial forum. If Christie wanted to sell quilts, and posted a couple of threads with pictures, I wouldn't be opposed. If nitrah or vandal or Skoop or wintergreen want to hawk their writings, that's great. If I'm not interested, I won't read.

But I consider those things avocations of the people involved. To use an example of someone I don't think would get too offended, if Sting suddenly showed up and started posting ads for his landscaping company, I think I would be bothered.

I also would be more forgiving of occasional, rather than recurring, threads of this nature.

I don't want to make this forum wall-to-wall banner ads, either. This is something I am doing while on my own time, but I am concerned about setting a precedent where BBs just start making posts about things they are doing in their spare time to generate some income, and slogging down the tone of the bored to where it's an online version of the Thrifty Nickel.

Sorry, I was just working on my "Everybody hates me, nobody loves me, I'm going to go eat worms" character for my stand-up routine.

I shudda used sarcafont, I guess.

I think that it's ok to post a link to whatever you are selling, people always have the right to say no, they don't want to buy.

I think that if you posted a new thread each day, it would get annoying.

So, what are you selling?

And there's plenty more. I'm trying to unload Mrs. Rexer's Tupperware kit from her "consultant" days.

Too many little pieces, not enough time.

My favorite Tupperware items are the FlatOut storage containers that collapse into flat disks.

I like the Modular Mates as well. All of my baking supplies and pantry are organized in black Modular Mates.
