Just a reminder that Lost returns at 9 eastern tonight on ABC. There will be a one-hour clips retrospective at 8 to catch people up on what happened last season, followed by two hours at 9:00. This season (as well as next) will consist of 17 hours of shows, scheduled to be broadcast on consecutive weeks. The show will wrap up after next season.

After months of garbage, 24, Battlestar and Lost are all back. I'm proud to be watching TV again.

I think Obama had something to do with this.

To that list I add Burn Notice and for a bit of comic relief the mid season returns of Monk and Psych to help provide some relief from the general wasteland of TV. Lost on Mars has had its moments as well even though I think it has been a bit of a ratings disappointment. It moves to Wednesday after Lost and if Lost isn't off to a good start as reported then it may not last long.

Fringe has been disappointing so far but still giving that a chance and the next show on the horizon with a bit of buzz seems to be Dollhouse. What little I have heard about that doesn't really seem to have much of hook for me but i am willing to wait and see.

And the 18th "season" of Survivor returns fairly soon (and hopefully Amazing Race as well). Hard to believe there have been 17 previous seasons of Survivor even with the recent habit of two a year.

If we're listing all the shows that are back on the air, let's not forget the third season of Big Love on HBO! The whole family will be dating a potential fourth wife!
