I'm sorry for your family's loss.

I don't remember you posting about any illness. Was this expected? --Bob

She'd been in the hospital since Saturday because she had fallen down/blacked out at home. Her body temperature was below normal. She was frail, but we weren't expecting this. However, by about 4pm, when Pam called me at work, it was pretty obvious it was going in this direction.

Pam had been there most of the day, after working her usual night shift. So when I finally got there, we sent her home. I was there with Pam's brothers when it happened, and then went home to tell her. So, yes, she had a chance to say goodbye and she was prepared. Thank you.

Frank, I now realize that you've been going through this for the last couple of days, including earlier today when you made your well intentioned post about the inauguration, which a number of us, myself perhaps more than anyone, responded negatively towards.

I never intend any of my comments of this nature personally but I can see how you might have felt reading these responses at a time like this. I would never want to add, even a slight bit, to anyone's feelings of hurt at a time like this. Please accept my apologies if anything I said in that post offended you; I had no idea what you were going through and never meant to post anything that would upset you.

I appreciate that, Steve, and let me assure you that there was no connection between the two things in my mind. I accept my responsibility for the fact that I might have worded things better, and everyone had the right to respond with what they honestly felt.

Heck, I didn't even get mad at the woman who rear-ended me on the parkway while I was on the way to the hospital last night! (No damage, but the timing sucked....)
