And someone else was saying the outfit today looked sallow.

Oh well. Not likely to please everyone.

I am just glad I don't analyzed for what I wear. But I think I looked fabu today.

:-)

"The Bow" was funnier than "The Gown".

I hated the dress and the gown.

I loved their relationship.

GW and I liked both the gown and the dress she wore during the day. We hated the dress at the convention - that looked like she was a cat burglar that someone had hit in the belly with a giant fluorescent paintball.

I always look good. It's a family curse.

Loved the gold suit! Didn't love the gown, but didn't hate it either. It might be one of those outfits that look better in person than on (non-high def) TV.

The little "puffball" looking thingies were probably lovely flowers close-up. And she was definitely exercising her Right to Keep Bare Arms :D :D :D :D :D (with arms like hers, who can blame her?!)

"The bow" made Obama look like a Nation of Islam preacher.

I thought "the bow" was referring Aretha's.

Yeah, what other bow are we referring to?

Loved both the suit-&-coat & the gown on Michelle O. Would not have looked good on me, but I wasn't the one wearing them. Did not like the election-night dress, but Michelle O looked better than others would in that, which is probably why she chose it.

Yes, I have edited my post. Convention night I was listening to the acceptance speech on the radio while at The Last (sob) Thomas Point Bluegrass Festival, so I couldn't have seen Michelle O's dress on that radio. I don't think.

After the ugly red/black dress I was really hoping to love her Inauguration outfits. I didn't like any of them, and thought they did absolutely nothing for her. She's a lovely woman, and I've seen her in really nice looking outfits. And most likely, she dint lose any sleep worrying about whether I was pleased with her choices.

Wasn't this the dress she wore in Grant Park the night of the election not the convention?

Whichever. We thought it was hideous and most definitely not the color for her.

I was referring to the white tie that Obama wore with his tux at the balls. As for Aretha, someone should have told her not to stop in mid-word on "My Count...try 'Tis of Thee".

I was referring to Aretha's "hat".

I'm with Christie -- I looked fabu yesterday too. All black (almost) for the party. Slacks, though, not gown.

I'm not a yellow fan, because it makes me look dead, so I'll probably never be that enamored with Michelle's choices. As T points out, I'm sure that suits her just fine.

You are not allowed an opinion on her hat if you are going to disagree with me.

I saw the designer of the gown on TV. He did not know she was wearing it until he saw footage of the ball.

How cool that musta been!

A report from DC.....

One of my old Hill co-workers attended the Mid-Atlantic State ball; she said the gown looked MUCH better in person than it showed on TV.

This woman generally has pretty good fashion sense so I will take her word for it.

My friend's coworker, however, said SHE wished that the First Lady had worn a more eye-popping color.

So. a split opinion from two women who saw it up close.

I suspected it might!

Well, from work I couldn't find a pic of The Bow, but I'm home now & Aretha's Hat is everywhere!

And, much as I love Hillary, I'm glad Michelle didn't go with a Silly Hat a la Hillary-1993!

Funny, funny, funny! (And Hillary's hat, too.)
