He called at 7am from a spot near the east end of the Air and Space Museum- which looks to me as if he's as close to the Capitol as one can get without a ticket. He can see the inaugual platform, but it's far away.
At that time, he said he saw people as far back as the Washington Monument.
He also sees thousands of porta pottys.
Beloved Son is on the Mall.

Beloved Son is on the Mall.
I am about 25% sure of this.

Re: Beloved Son is on the Mall.
I am watching an AP video feed on the web. People look cold. Some are jogging in place to keep warm. The occasional shots of people in suits, presumably important or semi-important government types, show many men without hats. Idiots.
The Obamas were attending a church service earlier. The missus has a much nicer dress than the one from the convention.
The portapotties are so the Reflecting Pool isn't turned yellow by the end of the day.
I feel sorry for anyone who actually had to go to work in downtown DC today. Reports were that the subway system's parking lots were filled before 5 AM.

I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Inauguration Day is always a holiday in the District of Columbia. Regular people do not have to go to work.gsabc wrote:I feel sorry for anyone who actually had to go to work in downtown DC today. Reports were that the subway system's parking lots were filled before 5 AM.

There were a fairly fun and somewhat successful 80's band and if marjority of the surviving members want to witness the inaugeration, that is their business - you don't have to call them idiots. The were probably doing 'The Safety Dance' to keep warm and not necessarly trying to draw attention to themselves.gsabc wrote:I am watching an AP video feed on the web. People look cold.
