It's always better to root for the underdogs and these guys'll be up against it almost as bad as my Giants last year. Plus, according to multiple reports, Mrs. Warner promised the kids a puppy if Kurt wins the Super Bowl, so if you're on the fence and you root for the Steelers you're rooting for children to not get a puppy. You sick sick bastards!

Now I notice some of the members of the Bored are already taking sides and no offense meant but Sprots I'm calling you out! (It's really a compliment 'cuz I know you can take it.) Now I'm okay with the fact that you want to root for the Steelers and post celebratory threads about them because your team's not in the playoffs however:

I will be rooting for the Cardinals, but not so much for Kurt Warner.... and most certainly not for ^*#&^@ Brenda Warner. Call me callous, but those two drove me nuts the entire time they were in St. Louis....

I can, however, tolerate them more than I can the Stillers and their fans though (No offense to MOST of their fans here).... so here's a lukewarm......

After the Colts got ROBBED by the zebra contingent, I more or less defaulted to the Cardinals...

...couldn't root for Philly...I live in Cowboy country
...couldn't root for Baltimore...they took the Colts from Miami first and Dallas later, and the Browns from Cleveland, and STILL have the nerve to hold a grudge against Indy
...couldn't root for the Steelers...even with the old family connection...I can't ever forget '95 or '05 playoffs

...Edgerrin James is a Cardinal, and was a Colt...and I like Father Time the QB...although it kills me to say that, since he'e only a year older than me

I find it impossible to root for the Cardinals after they mailed in their regular season game against the Patriots. With the division already won and no chance of changing their seeding for the playoffs, they essentially played an exhibition game. Took the QB out in the second quarter, used their backup players for much of the game, and generally played like it was still the first week in August and they didn't know which plays worked yet. For those who dished out the dollars to see a professional football game, they got only half of one because one team didn't choose to be professional.

I think they were professional. Had they played to win, it would have been for exhibition purposes only.

Since the Giants aren't playing, I'm pulling for the team with a Georgia Tech man for their coach.

It's interesting that everyone kept talking about how the Eagles were "this year's Giants." The only thing the Eagles had in common with last year's Giants were that both were wild card teams that would have needed to win three games on the road to go to the Super Bowl. The Giants pretty much sputtered their way through the last half of the season last year (the same way they sputtered through the last quarter of this year's season), only playing well in the season ending finale, a loss, against New England. The Eagles went into the playoffs a hot team.

On the other hand, the Cards did seem more like the Giants. This was a team that was highly suspect, one that went 3-7 outside of its own division and suffered some ugly losses, the worst coming in New England the next to last week of the season. No one gave them a chance and they got this far (they did have two home games, but were underdogs in both of them). My head tells me they don't stand much of a chance against the Steelers, but Pittsburgh does not have a dynamic offense, and if the Cards don't make mistakes, they could keep it close enough for something to happen in the fourth quarter.
