Spoiler
I really liked the guy (Daniel?) whose wife passed away recently. Decent fella, very nice, soulful voice. Best of all, was very selective with his vocal runs. Used them tastefully and sparingly. I was impressed. Best this week of who I've heard, imo.

The last singer, Lil Rounds, is also one to keep an eye on. Likable and powerhouse chops. Could stand to hold back a tad on the runs, but sometimes folks only do that at auditions when they may only have 20-30 seconds to make an impression.

There was a gal early in the show named Ashley, who I wrote down as having a powerful voice, but I've already forgotten who she was. Oops.

That kid Von has a strong voice but he's way overblown. "Over the Rainbow" was "Over the Top". Waaaay over. He needs educatin' on how to use that vocal instrument of his. Real potential there but he won't last long if somebody doesn't sit on him some.

Matt the welder is a nice guy but he was just good, not great. Don't see him getting thru Hollywood.

Don't know what to make of Michael Castro. My grandaughter loved him. I thought he was pretty good, but not Top 10 good. He acted more wasted than his brother did last year. Yeah, I know that Jason was apparently a straight-edged dude who didn't toke, but manoman when he talks, I swear I smell ganga rolling out of the tv speakers. And lil' bro acts the same way, like he'd just doobied Jeff Spicoli under the table..

Finally, I couldn't help but laugh when that portly male nurse sang "Reflection" ("..who is that girl I see staring straight back at me..") in that high pitched voice. It was a very uncomfortable laugh, but a laugh nonetheless.

And so it goes.

He will have to use his loss to propel him - if he can't, he will not stand up to the pressure of the show

Her husband was less than thrilled by the whole thing. He will be a problem for her. If she does not have other support to take care of her three little ones, she will not even show up in Hollywood and if she shows up, she will not have all of her energy there. That boy needs to get with the program and support his wife.

Don't know who you mean either. Double oops.

eh

Matt the welder is a nice guy but he was just good, not great. Don't see him getting thru Hollywood.

I loved him - mostly because of his back story and how his wife is supporting him and how he is a great husband and dad. I am rooting for him.

Annoyed the crap outta me that he got through. I didn't think he was anything better than okay.

I want to know how on earth they passed that skinny black kid. I saw nothing in his voice that would lead me to believe that he has even a remote chance of getting past Hollywood.

The only one I thought who has a chance to get past Hollywood was the last girl. Others were decent but not of that caliber. Although, I agree on the fella who recently lost his wife. He has a shot, as Taylor Hicks did.

I think she was the one towards the beginning with the Cher c. Caesar and Cleo haircut that sang the Leona Lewis song Simon co-wrote.

I cannot ever recalling Paula disagreeing with either Randy or Simon in the negative once the guys voiced their opinion in the positive.

I haven't kept that score. I do know she has said yes and they both have said no.

Too many shouters for my tastes. I liked the low-key people best, like the girl in the flannel shirt who takes care of her Grandma and the BBQ Thesis guy. Lil Rounds is sorta doomed by the fact she's in the LaToya/Melinda mold. Too old and classy to roust the voters to action, at least the rabid types clinging to their Go Phones and dreaming about the David of their choice.
