Tampa Stadium - Tampa Florida - played there twice. I know one was in the 80's and one was in the 90s.
(My aunt lived within spitting distance)

Without looking at the list, 16/11.
I incorrectly guessed Dallas/Cotton Bowl, so I stopped thinking of metro areas when I hit 12 -- which caused me to leave Houston and its two sites, Rice & Reliant Stadiums, off my list. I also forgot about Ford Field in Detroit, which was stupid since it was only three years ago!

OK...let's see...
San Diego (Murph-Qualcomm)
Miami (Orange Bowl & Dolphin/Pro Player/Joe Robbie)
Detroit (Silverdome & Ford Field)
Minneapolis (Metrodome)
LA (Coliseum...plus Rose Bowl...Pasadena, but still LA area)
New Orleans (Superdome and Tulane Stadium)
Houston (Rice & Reliant)
Jacksonville (Alltell at the time I think)
Phoenix (Sun Devil & U of Phoenix)
Palo Alto (Stanford)
Tampa (Tampa (Big Sombrero) and Raymond James)
Atlanta (Georgia Dome)
Coming up--Tampa again, Miami again, Arlington, TX, and Indy
I'm kinda hoping for a home-team SB in XLV or XLVI lol

Dallas will become the 13th metro area to host the game the year after next.
Miami, I believe, hosts it next year, breaking the tie with New Orleans as having hosted the most.
Super Bowl XLVI will feature Indianapolis as the 14th metro area to get one.
And next year will feature an interesting twist- the Pro Bowl will be held the week before the Super Bowl, at the site of the game, not Honolulu a week afterwards as it has been for many years now.

Not that it isn't already a dud, but won't it really be a dud with everyone who was named a ProBowler, but playing in the Super Bowl, sitting it out? That's assuming the Super Bowl players will be sitting it out. I can't imagine any NFL coach or owner -- or player -- taking on that injury risk.

Pro Bowl before Super Bowl is just wrong. Cant put the pudding before the meat, as the guy more or less said. If you want to be real, put a bronze medal game in the hiatus week with the profit to go to the relief of indigent aged ex-footballers.

I was trying to remember the name of that. Something in the back of my mind is ringing up to "Playoff Bowl". I may be undismisillremembering, but I think it was the NFL only, back when there was still an AFL and an NFL, but they were playing the Super Bowl (or, The AFL-NFL Championship Game).

It was called the Playoff Bowl.
It's how the Steelers got their current helmets, BTW.

Logistically, the two Super Bowl teams rate to have a fairly large number of Pro Bowlers, so you may have to pick about a dozen replacements with fairly little notice.
