Good Ratings News for 24

Last night's second two hours of 24 held up very well in the ratings, with practically the same overnights as the night before and virtually no erosion from half hour to half hour. This means the people who started to watch it are sticking with it. And, next week, with new episodes of House as a lead-in, it should do quite well. The CBS comedies have their demographic, but I don't see whatever reality crap ABC puts out there or the extremely ratings-challenged Heroes doing much against it.

As for the season so far, let's just say that the prospect of Chloe taking on Janeane Garofalo has its own highly peculiar charms.

I'm still waiting for the return of Jon Voight as the uber-villain, but the big game will be guessing who the bad guy in the White House is. My money's on the First Husband, mainly since he's played by Colm Feore, who always plays civilized slimeballs.

It wasn't much of a shock to learn that Tony was working undercover.

And I do like the new FBI agent as Jack's new partner/potential love interest.

And who thought Bill Buchanan could get any dreamier? He's always been my 24 fave. He's joined Jethro Gibbs as a silver-haired TV hottie.
