Meredith is a cover girl!

#1 Post by Winnamill » Mon Jan 12, 2009 7:43 pm

Happened by my local Kaiser office today and while waiting saw a copy of "More" magazine. Never heard of it before, but is apparently a magazine for "women of a certain age". Anyway, Meredith was the cover girl, and there was quite a nice story in it about her. Millionaire was mentioned only in passing, but it did make the cut.

It is a good magazine. It is for women my age. There are great articles on how to stay healthy and give up comparing yourself now to yourself then.

What's wrong with comparing yourself now to yourself then? In my own case, for instance, I'm smarter and more knowledgeable now, more confident, clearly more dashing and debonair, and even (dare I say it?) more humble. 8) --Bob

And if you are like a lot of guys, your breasts are bigger.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Not bigger. Tougher. From all the thumping. --Bob
